• The Narrow Path: In religious contexts, the “right way” is frequently described as a narrow, disciplined path (e.g., following divine commands), while the “wrong way” is the broader path of destructive, selfish, or unrestrained behavior.
• Consequences of Failure: The “wrong way” is not merely immoral but destructive, resulting in existential threats, such as ecological collapse or the breakdown of social cohesion.

The Role of Religion and the Crossroads

• Religion as Guidance: Historically, religion functioned to teach the difference between the “right” and “wrong” path, often setting sacred values to be protected.
• The Current Crossroads: Humanity is seen as being at a crossroads because the traditional mechanisms—such as religion or social conventions—are being challenged by rapid advancements, including AI, which, while useful, do not share human values.
