Dear Friends,
We are thrilled to share some wonderful news about our community! The Fredericksburg Friends and the Ladysmith Friends groups have officially joined together. As a united community, we have moved to a new location and updated our weekly meeting format to better serve everyone.
Whether you are a long-time member or thinking about joining us for the first time, here is everything you need to know about our new journey together.
Our New Home & Meeting Time
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fredericksburg, we have a beautiful new space to gather. The Unitarians are a wonderful, welcoming group of people, and we are deeply grateful to them for opening their doors to our society.
- When: Every Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
- Where: The Unitarian Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia
- Format: Hybrid. You are welcome to join us in person, and you are always welcome to step in at any time that works for you.
What to Expect: Our 1-Hour Meeting Format
Our meetings are open to absolutely everyone. While we are Quakers at heart, we warmly welcome people of all faiths and spiritual backgrounds.
To give our group the best of both worlds, our one-hour meeting is split into two meaningful parts:
- The First 30 Minutes (Silent Worship): Some Quakers call this silent worship, but you can think of it simply as a dedicated time to listen. Worship is something we do every day in how we live our lives and honor each of our own Faiths, but this half-hour is a special, shared time to sit in silence and listen to what the spirit tells us.
- The Second 30 Minutes (Coffee & Fellowship): The second half-hour is dedicated to community. We open the floor for “coffee talk”—a time to chat, catch up, communicate about any issues, or just connect. If you prefer to remain in silent reflection during this time, you are more than welcome to do so.

We would love to have you join us this Sunday! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

In friendship and peace,
David Soucie/The Organizing Team
